Vung Tau is the perfect getaway for spontaneous trips from Saigon. Not only is the distance short and easy to cover, but the city itself is constantly evolving, revealing new charms every day. From lush forests to quirky photo spots, Vung Tau offers diverse experiences for every traveler.

Tip: Before setting off, don’t forget to book your hotel in Vung Tau with Lily’s Travel for a comfortable stay!

Binh Chau National Forest

🌳 Binh Chau National Forest is a pristine coastal forest in Xuyen Moc, where the ocean and jungle meet. Spanning an impressive 11,000 hectares, it’s home to a rich ecosystem of flora, fauna, lakes, and diverse birdlife.

Whether you visit in the rainy or dry season, Binh Chau National Forest always has its unique charm. The air remains cool and fresh year-round, making it a perfect spot for nature lovers.

  • Location: Xuyen Moc District, Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province
  • Ticket price: 20,000 VND/person

Da Xanh Lake

📸 Da Xanh Lake, nestled beside the slopes of Dinh Mountain, is a favorite among photography enthusiasts for its surreal scenery. The tranquil lake shimmers with clear blue water, framed by rocky cliffs and greenery.

A simple gesture — raise your hand, strike a pose — and you’ll have stunning photos without much effort. Visitors can also rent boats to glide across the lake or visit the nearby sheep fields for even more picturesque shots.

  • Address: Tan Thanh District, Kim Dinh, Ba Ria-Vung Tau
  • Opening hours: 8:00 – 18:00
  • Ticket prices:
    • Entry/Photography: 20,000 VND/person
    • Wedding photography: 150,000 VND
    • Photos with sheep: 50,000 VND/person

Ho May Tourist Area

🏞 One of the most famous attractions in Vung Tau is the Ho May Tourist Area, perched over 210 meters above sea level. Thanks to its pleasant, temperate climate, many call it the “miniature Da Lat” of Vung Tau.

You can reach Ho May by road or take the scenic cable car from Big Mountain. Lily’s Travel highly recommends the cable car for breathtaking views over Vung Tau’s landscapes.

Ho May is divided into five themed zones packed with entertainment, including water skiing, paintball, ziplining, a 5D cinema, and more. With five restaurants on-site, there’s no chance you’ll go hungry during your adventure.

  • Location: 1A Tran Phu, Ward 1, Vung Tau City
  • Opening hours: 8:30 – 18:00 (daytime) or 8:30 – 22:00 (evening visits)
  • Ticket prices:
    • Adults: 400,000 VND/day, 200,000 VND/night
    • Children: 200,000 VND/day, 100,000 VND/night

Upside Down House

🔄 For a quirky and fun experience, visit the Upside Down House in Vung Tau. This three-story building combines a coffee shop on the ground floor with seven themed rooms upstairs where everything — furniture, decorations, and entire rooms — is flipped upside down!

The vibrant decor makes for fantastic and playful photos, giving you the feeling of walking on the ceiling.

  • Address: 66 Co Giang, Ward 4, Vung Tau City
  • Opening hours: 6:00 – 22:00
  • Ticket price: 40,000 VND/person

Alley 444 Tran Phu

🍂 For those who love the romantic scenery reminiscent of Korean dramas, Alley 444 Tran Phu is a hidden gem. The journey there might be a bit challenging, but it’s absolutely worth it.

This narrow road is flanked by ancient trees, perched on cliffs overlooking the sea, and offers panoramic views of the city. The best times to visit are sunrise and sunset when golden light bathes the entire alley in a magical glow. March is especially stunning when the trees turn a golden yellow.

  • Address: Alley 444 Tran Phu, Vung Tau City
  • Opening hours: Open 24/7
  • Entrance fee: Free

Hon Ba

🌊 A small island just 200 meters offshore, Hon Ba sits close to Nghinh Phong Cape and the base of Nho Mountain. It’s a well-known spiritual spot in Vung Tau, home to a temple dedicated to the Goddess Thuy Long.

You can reach Hon Ba either by boat or by walking along a rocky path revealed when the tide recedes. Check tide schedules carefully, as the path isn’t always accessible.

  • Address: Back Beach, Vung Tau City, Ba Ria – Vung Tau
  • Entrance fee: Free

Ho Coc

🌴 Ho Coc is perfect for nature lovers seeking a peaceful escape. Wooden bridges, green trees, and the soothing sound of waves create a serene atmosphere reminiscent of childhood adventures.

The ocean’s rhythm and gentle breezes compose a natural symphony, making this spot wonderfully relaxing.

  • Location: Bung Rieng Commune, Xuyen Moc District, Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province
  • Opening hours: Open 24/7
  • Entrance fee: Free

Pig Hill (Đồi Con Heo)

Despite its unusual name, Pig Hill is a scenic spot offering panoramic views of Thuy Van Street and the Vung Tau coastline. The hill remains relatively wild, dotted with shrubs and grasses, yet it’s a favorite hangout for young locals and photographers.

Trekking up the hill can be challenging, but the view — especially at sunrise or sunset — makes every step worthwhile. Many visitors also enjoy overnight camping on the hill for a unique experience under the stars.

  • Address: Alley 222 Phan Chu Trinh, Ward 2, Vung Tau City
  • Entrance fee: Free

Marina

🚤 Vung Tau’s Marina is the city’s first stylish riverside marina, popular among travelers for chic photo opportunities. Located on the Sinh River and near Long Son Island, the marina welcomes tourists exploring river routes from Ho Chi Minh City.

The marina’s signature yellow dock makes for a vibrant backdrop for photos. Visitors can come during the day or evening to enjoy the lively atmosphere, try seafood at local restaurants, or head out on a boat or canoe trip to explore the river.

  • Address: No. 1, Dong Xuyen Industrial Park, Rach Dua, Vung Tau
  • Entrance prices:
    • Canoe ride: 280,000 VND/person
    • Boat trip: 2,700,000 VND/boat

Dong Cuu Suoi Nghe (Suoi Nghe Sheep Farm)

🐑 If you’ve ever dreamed of wandering through fields dotted with fluffy sheep, Dong Cuu Suoi Nghe is the place for you. Just two hours from Saigon, this photogenic spot began as an empty lot and rose to fame when locals started grazing sheep there. Today, it’s home to around three flocks totaling over 150 sheep.

The best times to visit are early morning (before 10:00 AM) or late afternoon (around 3-4 PM) when the weather is cool, and the sheep are out grazing. For gorgeous photos, dress in a breezy, nomadic style to match the rustic scenery.

  • Address: Street No. 11, Suoi Nghe, Chau Duc, Ba Ria-Vung Tau
  • Opening hours: 6:00 – 17:00
  • Photography fees: 50,000 – 100,000 VND/session
