Optional Tour – Ho Chi Minh Vespa Experience (4 Hours)
Feel the heartbeat of Saigon like a local on the back of a vintage Vespa, driven by an experienced rider. This exciting ride offers a unique perspective of the city, far from typical tourist routes.

Cruise through Chinatown, wander through a fragrant flower market, and discover a hidden Buddhist pagoda tucked away from the city’s chaos. Continue your tour with stops at the iconic Saigon Opera House and the historic Central Post Office, both masterpieces of colonial architecture designed by Gustave Eiffel.

Whether it’s your first time or a return visit, this Vespa adventure is a thrilling and immersive introduction to Vietnam’s largest city.

Around 08:00, your tour guide will meet you at your hotel lobby to begin your journey into the heart of the Mekong Delta. You’ll drive approximately 90 km (about 2 hours) to Ben Tre, a peaceful province known for its lush coconut groves and interwoven waterways—where daily life flows along the rivers and canals.

Upon arrival, board a boat for a scenic cruise along the Ham Luong River (a branch of the Mekong). Along the way, you’ll stop at various local workshops to observe traditional crafts in action:

  • Brick kilns using age-old methods,

  • A coconut processing facility where every part of the fruit is utilized,

  • A mat-weaving house, where skilled artisans make handwoven sleeping mats.

Next, the boat docks at a quiet riverside village where you can stretch your legs with a leisurely walk, experiencing the authentic pace of rural life. Continue with a bicycle ride through the tranquil coconut plantations, shaded pathways, and small farms that define the Mekong Delta landscape.

At 12:00, enjoy lunch at a local village restaurant (at your own expense), featuring regional specialties made from fresh local ingredients.

After lunch, relax on the return drive to Ho Chi Minh City, arriving back at your hotel around 17:00.

Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.
Meals: Lunch at own arrangement.

This morning at 08:00, you will leave Ho Chi Minh City for a scenic drive through the Vietnamese countryside to the historic Cu Chi Tunnels, located about 60 km away. Although the distance is relatively short, the latter part of the journey takes you through rural backroads, where travel is slower due to road conditions—giving you a glimpse of daily life in the countryside.

Around 10:00, arrive at the Cu Chi Tunnels site. Begin your visit with a short introductory video explaining the tunnels’ construction and their strategic importance during the wars. Then, dive into an hour-long exploration of this underground network. While only a portion of the 250 km-long maze is open to the public, it offers powerful insight into how thousands of locals and soldiers lived, worked, and fought in these narrow, camouflaged passageways.

You’ll also see:

  • Mantraps used in guerrilla warfare,

  • The remains of an American tank, and

  • Bomb craters left by B-52 airstrikes—reminders of the intense conflict.

After the tour, return to Ho Chi Minh City and head to the airport for your short flight to Da Nang.

Upon arrival in Da Nang, you’ll be met by your private guide and driver, who will transfer you to your hotel in the charming town of Hoi An (approximately 45 minutes by car).

Meals: At your own arrangement.

This morning, hop on a bicycle ride to Tra Que Vegetable Village, a peaceful farming community just outside Hoi An. Here, you’ll immerse yourself in the daily rhythms of rural life and learn how local farmers cultivate herbs and vegetables using traditional organic methods.

Roll up your sleeves as you:

  • Prepare the soil and plant young herbs,

  • Water the vegetables using the signature shoulder pole and watering cans,

  • And experience firsthand the dedication behind each green leaf.

After working up an appetite, join a Vietnamese cooking class where you’ll learn to prepare several authentic local dishes—with fresh ingredients sourced right from the garden. Then, sit down and enjoy a delicious lunch made by your own hands.

In the afternoon, head to the river for a fun and memorable basket boat experience. These iconic round boats, traditionally used by local fishermen, are tricky but fun to paddle. Enjoy the lively energy as you:

  • Learn how to maneuver the boat,

  • Weave through narrow coconut waterways,

  • And maybe even catch a fish or two!

Afterward, return to your hotel and enjoy the rest of the evening at leisure.

In the afternoon, step back in time with a visit to the Imperial Citadel, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore the ancient grounds, royal pavilions, and temples that once housed the Nguyen emperors.

Continue to the Thien Mu Pagoda, one of the oldest and most beautiful religious sites in the country, located along the banks of the Perfume River. From here, embark on a relaxing boat trip along this poetic river, soaking in the serene atmosphere and views of riverside life.
